Undefined

Among many things, it was the most fragile
It was delicate, and yet as sweet as wine.
It was something poignant and difficult to comprehend,
It was something humans could not clearly define.

It could not be touched, but it can be seen.
It cannot be tasted, but it has many tastes.
It can be sweet, sour, or the bitterest of things
But when consumed, one doesn’t leave wastes.

It can be encountered everywhere you go,
In your home, your school, your office, or any workplace.
It cannot be avoided nor can it be stopped,
For in every second of every minute of every hour, it takes place.

People define it in many ways,
In fact, there is no exact definition of what it is really.
Scientists define it using its characteristics
And most people define it positively.

Every living person owns this thing
Maybe you like or love it, maybe you not
What you make of it depends on the choices you make
Maybe you’d stay single, maybe you’d tie the knot.

It stays in anything living
It may be the reason why there is such thing.
It leaves anything that has been dead
Without it, what once had it can only be called a ‘thing’.

Have you figured it now or have you figured it not?
There is no need for words so well-refined.
It is merely a four-letter word that has multiple meanings.
Do you want to name it now? or leave it undefined?
